- The Bible Lesson-Sermon, read each Sunday in all branch churches,
is comprised of references from the King James Version of
the Bible and from the Christian Science textbook,
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by
Mary Baker Eddy. Our Wednesday evening meetings
include testimonies of healing by people who have applied
Christian Science to every sort of human problem. You
will also hear of individual insights into Biblical
references and how they have instructed and guided people
to help them solve their everyday challenges. There is
child care at both services. Please join us. People of
all faiths (or no faith) are welcome.
- The Lesson-Sermon for Sunday, November
8th, is entitled, "Adam and Fallen
Man." The Golden Text is from Romans 4:8.
- "Blessed is the man
to whom the Lord will not impute sin."
- AN INVITATION FROM OUR
CHURCH
- Our Reading Room welcomes you at both
doors--front and back. If you are looking for a quiet
place to think and pray, explore the Bible and become
acquainted with Christian Science, this is the place.
Don't know anything about Christian Science? Come in and
ask us. We love to share what we know. Ask about our
lending library, Bible reference materials, and the many
Christian Science periodicals available. Our
denominational textbook, Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy is available
also in languages other than English. Reading this book
has healed countless individuals and changed lives in
remarkable ways. Why not you?
- Even though our Sunday School meets
year round, we are reorganizing our senior class of
high school seniors and college students this fall.
All young people from about 18 to 20 are most welcome.
This is a class that challenges your thinking and
explores your special issues, helping you solve them
through prayer as taught in Christian Science. Come join
us. Entrance to the Sunday School is from the rear
parking lot. We start at 10:30 every Sunday morning.
OUR WEEKLY QUOTATION:
- Science and Health with
Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p.
201:7--5 (next page)
- "We
cannot build safely on false foundations. Truth makes a
new creature, in whom old things pass away and "all
things are become new." Passions, selfishness, false
appetites, hatred, fear, all sensaulity, yield to
spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the
side of God, good.
- "We
cannot fill vessels already full. They must first be
emptied. Let us disrobe error. Then, when the winds of
God blow, we shall not hug our tatters close about us.
- "The way
to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth
through flood-tides of Love. Christian perfection is won
on no other basis.
-
- "Grafting
holiness upon unholiness, supposing that sin can be
forgiven when it is not forsaken , is as foolish as
straining out gnats and swallowing camels.
-
- "The
scientific unity which exists between God and man must be
wrought out in life-practice, and God's will must be
universally done."
