- The Bible Lesson-Sermon, read each Sunday in all branch churches,
is comprised of references from the King James Version of
the Bible and from the Christian Science textbook,
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by
Mary Baker Eddy. Our Wednesday evening meetings
include testimonies of healing by people who have applied
Christian Science to every sort of human problem. You
will also hear of individual insights into Biblical
references and how they have instructed and guided people
to help them solve their everyday challenges. There is
child care at both services. Please join us. People of
all faiths (or no faith) are welcome.
- The Lesson-Sermon for Sunday, March
21st isentitled, "Matter." The
Golden Text is from Psalms 119:89,104.
- "For ever, O Lord,
thy word is settled in heaven. ...Through thy precepts I
get understanding: therefore I hate every false
way."
- AN INVITATION FROM OUR
CHURCH
- Are you acquainted with our Reading
Room? If not, you should be. This is a place for inquiry,
spiritual refreshment and quiet prayer. It is filled with
resources on Christian Science--enough to anwer your
questions about its source, what it is and what it isn't.
The Reading Room is also fulll of Bible reference
materials and magazines with practical articles on how
Christian Science is applied by people everyday. Our
newly revised news magazine, the Christian Science
Monitor, delivers the world into your hands for a
clear-eyed view of what's going on. Stop in to see for
yourself. Welcoming librarians are there to show you
around and answer questions. See the hours, location and
phone number at the top of the web page.
OUR WEEKLY QUOTATION:
- Science and Health with
Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy,
p.323:6-24..
-
- "Through the
wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in
the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which
are the landmarks of Science. Beholding the infinite
tasks of truth, we pause, -- wait on God. Then we push
onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and
conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine
glory.
- "In order to
apprehend more, we must put into practice what we already
know. We must recollect that Truth is demonstrable when
understood, and that good is not understood until
demonstrated. If "faithful over a few things,"
we shall be made rulers over many; but the one unused
talent decays and is lost. When the sick or the sinning
awake to realize their need of what they have not, they
will be receptive of divine Science, which gratvitates
towards Soul and away from material sense, removes
thought from the body, and elevates even mortal mind to
the contemplation of something better than disease or
sin."
